Submission Requirements
Submissions to the Magic in Progress Literary Magazine must meet the following criteria.
- Word count: 10 to 2000 words
- Genre: Fantasy and Scifi Prefered (others occasionally accepted)
- Type of written work: Short story, poem, excerpt from larger piece, deleted scene from a published work, pieces created during world building or character development, alternate endings that you liked but ultimately had to change, articles, spells, songs, or recipes written by your characters. We are pretty open to other ideas as well.
- Things we love to see: Diversity of characters and authors, interesting Magic systems, creative worldbuilding, beautiful artwork, impactful themes, and emotive language.
- What we won’t accept: Works created with generative AI, Art created with generative AI, Fanfiction (for copywrite purposes), or explicit sexual content.

How to Submit
Send your story, excerpt, poem, etc. to Moonlightcovenpublishing@gmail.com with the subject line “[Issue] Submission: [Your Name]”.
Email should include
- Your story, excerpt, or poem.
- A short description of your submitted piece.
- A short author bio.
- A list of any published works (if applicable).
- Artwork to go with your submission (optional).
